The Ship by which to Sail to Empryean

Posted in by Alex P. Leith | Edit
Eyes pan past the ocean’s blue
to find that ship with rutter true.
Where wind and rain molest the crew,
but never its path to change.

The dark of night that stands alone
with water’s bite cutting to the bone
and not a mate with strength to groan
but never its path to change.

Crashing of waves to nearly destroy
all they have worked for like a toy
that entertains the simplest boy,
but never its path to change.

It’s that ship, which together we’ll sail
Onward through sun, sleet and hail.
And, the faith of the world is turning pail,
but never our path to change.
